POLICE ARREST SUSPECTS FOR SEXUAL OFFENCES, FRAUD AND CRIMINAL INTIMIDATION

The Bauchi State Police Command wishes to update the public on notable successes recorded in the last week of February 2026. CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu, mni, psc(+), assures residents that discreet investigations are ongoing to ensure justice in all cases.

CASE OF UNNATURAL OFFENCE (SODOMY) – BURRA
On 25th February, 2026, one Danalami Umar, 45 years old of Bakin Kasuwa, Burra, reported at the Divisional Police Headquarters, Burra that on 17th February, 2026, at about 2000hrs, a 15-year-old teenager was deceitfully lured by Bala Mato ‘m’ aged 48 years, who allegedly committed an unnatural offence against him in a room. The suspect was arrested, and the victim taken to General Hospital Burra for medical examination.

CASE OF RAPE
On 23rd February 2026, a 30-year-old mother reported at ‘B’ Divisional Police Headquarters that a security guard with Al-Ansar Security Limited, Kamaluddeen Aliyu ‘m’ aged 24 years, lured two minors (4 & 5 years) into a security room at Tsohon Company and had unlawful carnal knowledge of them on separate occasions. The victims and suspect were taken to the Police Clinic for medical examination. The Commissioner of Police directed the DPO to transfer the case to the Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) Unit for thorough investigation.

CASE OF CRIMINAL CONSPIRACY, INTIMIDATION AND FRAUD
On 24th February, 2026 at about 1840hrs, one Emmanuel Christopher ‘m’ of Dawaki District, Abuja, reported at Liman Katagum Division that he was defrauded. Two individuals, Aliyu Yahaya ‘m’ aged 23 years and Abdullahi ‘m’ (now at large) criminally conspired and collected ₦3,000,000 from him under pretence of negotiating dollars, then intimidated him with knives. The DPO led detectives to the scene, arrested Aliyu Yahaya, while Abdullahi fled. Efforts are ongoing to arrest the fleeing suspect, recover the money, and charge them to court.

CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu assures residents that the Command remains committed to protecting lives and property and ensuring that criminal elements face justice.
