The Danchuwa Charity Foundation has successfully organized a major humanitarian outreach program that resulted in the registration of 1,000 people for free and permanent health insurance, while 100 individuals were selected to benefit from free hernia (qaba) surgery.
The event, which attracted community leaders, political stakeholders, traditional institutions, and religious figures, was described as a significant effort aimed at improving access to healthcare services for vulnerable members of society.
According to the organizers, the initiative is designed to support individuals who face difficulties accessing medical care due to financial constraints. Through the free health insurance registration, beneficiaries will now have access to healthcare services without worrying about the high cost of treatment.
The program recorded strong representation from three traditional emirates — Potiskum, Nangere, and Fika. Representatives from the three emirates attended the gathering to demonstrate their support for humanitarian programs that directly benefit the people.
The event also witnessed the presence of all officials of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in both Potiskum and Nangere, alongside political stakeholders from Zone B and representatives from three local government areas.
Further strengthening grassroots participation, the program brought together five principal officers representing all the 21 wards across Potiskum and Nangere, as well as two stakeholders from each ward across the two local government areas.
Organizers explained that the humanitarian intervention was specifically targeted at some of the most vulnerable and socially important members of the community. The beneficiaries of the program include:
Orphans (Marayu)
Widows (Zawarawa)
Persons living with disabilities (Guragu)
Islamic clerics (Limamai)
Christian pastors
Cemetery guards (Masu gadin makabartu)
District heads (Hakimai)
Humanitarian volunteers (Yan Agaji)
These groups were carefully considered due to their social conditions and their important roles in supporting and guiding the community.
The gathering was also attended by several Hakimai and their representatives, respected religious leaders, and numerous volunteers who contributed greatly to the success of the event. Special prayers were offered by religious leaders for peace, unity, and continued blessings upon those supporting humanitarian efforts.
Speaking during the event, organizers emphasized that the free hernia surgery for 100 patients would provide critical medical assistance to individuals suffering from the condition but who cannot afford the cost of surgery. Medical experts note that untreated hernia cases can lead to serious health complications if not properly addressed.
Participants and beneficiaries expressed appreciation to the Danchuwa Charity Foundation for the initiative, describing it as a life-changing opportunity for many families who struggle to access healthcare services.
The event ended peacefully, with participants expressing gratitude to Almighty Allah for making the program successful.
In their closing remarks, the organizers prayed for continued success and strength to expand similar humanitarian programs in the future.
